The house that we offer as accommodation is a building from the beginning of the last century that for almost 100 years has served as home to several generations of the same family of farmers.
Festivals, meetings, births... the stone walls that raise this house have witnessed how people lived and how they lived until 1980, when the last member of the family who lived there, Mrs. Milagros, decided to close the door and move with her son out of the village of La Nucía.
More than twenty years went by without the stone walls being invited again to New Year's Eve dinners or family gatherings.
Nor did the kitchen receive any more orders to have a menu ready at two o'clock, nor did the fireplace have to reheat a family during dinner.
The house was so lacking in people that it gradually ceased to be a home and became a cold and sad place.
Seeing it getting colder and sadder every year made us realise that houses are not built to be closed.
If we wanted to recover the house that my grandfather, the son of Mrs. Milagros, still remembered, we would have to reform and rehabilitate it.
To convince the kitchen to cook again, we had to provide it with new appliances, and when the other rooms noticed this favourable treatment... they wanted their share too.
With no little effort this house is ready to have life again. Now the floors are shining, the old furniture is not squeaking and the hot water is flowing smoothly through the pipes. Now all that remains is for you to come and have a barbecue in the courtyard, to rest in the rooms and,
enjoy the house!
