In addition to the traditional markets selling high-quality fresh food, such as the Mercado Central in Alicante, visitors can find a number of street markets selling handicrafts, such as the one in Altea, and flea markets, such as the one in La Nucia, as well as establishments which sell handicrafts with innovative designs. Other interesting markets include El Campico in Guardamar, the one in Xaló, El Cisne in Benidorm and those held in Santa Faz and the town hall square in Alicante.

Maisonnave is the most popular shopping street in Alicante, while Elche and Elda are the shoe capitals of Spain, where designs for the most famous shoe brands in the world are made in Elche's industrial park and the shoe outlet route in Elda. Their products also include bags and other accessories. Crevillent is a paradise for rugs, containing an endless number of shops, while Ibi is famous for its toy industry and related products.

The turron sold in Alicante is a symbol of quality and excellence. The turron made in Jijona has a guarantee of origin and quality mark, as do its ice-creams, which come in a variety of innovative flavours. Alicante's wines have also obtained international awards and can be purchased in the province's numerous wineries, which you can also visit and do some wine tasting thanks to the so-called Wine Route.
