With almost three kilometres of fine white sand, the Arenales del Sol beach is one of the most valued on the coast of Alicante, both for the quality of its water and the richness of its marine life, in addition to its dunes, whisch are embryonic, mobile, semi-permanent, permanent and even fossil. Furthermore, it is connected with the Clot de Galvany Nature Reserve, a wetland located amongst the urban area of Arenales del Sol and Gran Alacant (in the municipal district of Santa Pola).
It is 5 km from Alicante-Elche International Airport and 16 km from Elche.
The beach is mostly surrounded by the buildings of the Elche district which gives it its name, with what that means in terms of complementary facilities: restaurants, shops, kiosks, ice cream parlours and a street market (between the end of June and the beginning of September) on Tuesday and Friday afternoon, where farmers go in order to directly offer their excellent fresh produce; you can also find stands selling clothes and shoes, amongst others.
Arenales del Sol communicates with El Carabassí by a long promenade from which access is made to the seashore by means of wooden walkways that cross without damaging the precious coastal dune ecosystem
Granted with a blue flag status, the unspoilt nature of the areas located to the north and south of the town centre lends it a high ecological value. Additionally, there is plenty of parking areas, first aid and rescue services, a shaded area and assisted bathing services for people with reduced mobility, a tourist information centre, beach chairs and sun shade rental service, beach bars, and a regular bus service linking it with Elche, Alicante and Santa Pola.
