The clay and whitlish lands of Sierra del Ventós o del Castellar have been the traditional source of wealth in Agost: ceramics, bricks, household goods and, especially, those typical white color botijos have represented the main industries of this town.
Along with traditional pottery crafts and ceramics, today the greatest source of wealth is the manufacture of bricks, an activity that develop several factories.
These same lands have led to the cultivation of vineyards that run throughout the municipality and make it possible for Agost to belong to the area of Protected Designation of Origin for the Uva de Mesa Embolsada.
