Balones is located in the southern slope of Sierra de
Almudaina, in front of Els Frares de la Serrella. Although there were found
Iberian remains, the origin of this town is Moorish, since in its vicinity we
can find the Seta Castle where there was a mosque. The ancient and difficult
accesses to the town by car, its agricultural economy and the small population,
contribute to the fact that, until recently, Balones was a town not known for
most of the people, which has had a great impact on the conservation of its
natural charms.
