Benferri is the first town of the province of Alicante
that we meet coming from Murcia by the highway. Its origin is a small tower of
Orihuela that D. Jaime Rocamora inherited, where lived 29 families and that in
1622 became a parish under the direction of the Rocamora family. The shield
contains a golden tower and a branch of blackberries, which symbolized the most
important landmarks of this small town whose main economic activities are the
building industry and the agriculture.
