Beniarrés, bordering the province of Valencia, is a
cheerful medium size population of el Comtat. It was conquered by Jaime I and
donated to one of the orders that inherited the heritage of the Templars, the
Order of Montesa, which had its headquarters in the neighboring castle of
Perputxent. Its around 1200 inhabitants live off the field that irrigates the
Serpis River and the industry that offer Cocentaina and Muro de Alcoy.
