Busot is located in the foothills of Cabeço d’Or, in
the north of the province of Alicante, in the middle of a typical landscape of
Mediterranean vegetation and crops, which endowed it with its traditional rain-fed
and fruit trees agriculture. However, nowadays the tourism and services are the
main economic activities in the town. In the mountain of Busot we can find the
famous Cuevas de Canalobre, which are the main attraction of the municipality
and receive a huge number of visitors. The appearance of the cave looks like a
large basilica, where we can contemplate various calcareous formations that
seem great candelabras. You can visit them all year round. On the top of the
town there is a Muslim castle from the twelfth century, which was part of the
defensive system of Alicante in medieval times.
