The historic capital of the sub-district known as Foia de Castalla has undergone an economic evolution that has taken it from being an agricultural population to an industrial and service population as well. It is a town that has conserved very well the old town with narrow and steep streets that reach the Hermitage of the Preciosísima Sangre de Cristo and the Castle. A large amount of the extensive municipality is a densely populated forest area of Aleppo pines and aromatic herbs, so it is common to practice activities such as hiking or cycle-tourism there, especially in the area of the "Xorret de Catí". It is worth seeing the Palacio de los Rico next to the Town Hall and go for a hike that takes us to the Hermitage of la Sangre and the Muslim Castle.
