Crevillent

The municipality of Crevillent is composed of two quite distinct zones: the Sierra de Crevillent and the Sierra de la Madera in the north; and an extensive area of crops that ends in the Natural Area of Hondo in the south. It is an industrial and commercial city, highlighting its high quality carpets.

In terms of tourism it is recommended to visit the impressive landscapes of its mountains, and the plains of the lagoon of El Hondo, where we can contemplate native fauna and flora, and migratory birds, too. The cave dwellings excavated on the slopes of the ravines are also curious.

Culturally this town stands out for its strong musical tradition represented by the various and famous choral singing groups, by its Moors and Christians festivities and its Holy Week declared as being a festivity of International Tourist Interest, and by its museum offer in which stands out the great work of the Valencian sculptor Mariano Benlliure that left a sample of his work in Crevillent.
