It is a recent municipality since its segregation of the one of Orihuela in 1986 that consists of an urban center located in the interior, and a settlement in the coast formed by Mojón, Mil Palmeras and Torre de la Horadada, where there is a marina. In the north, and next to Sierra Escalona, there is the urbanization of Pinar de Campoverde, a quality residential space, where there are recreational areas and you can practice hiking through two routes, one located within the urbanization (4km), and another one that ends at the El Río beach (10 km). It is a municipality characterized mainly by its well preserved beaches, among which we must highlight El Mojón beach (in El Mojón); Las Higuericas Beach, Las Villas Beach, El Puerto Beach, El Conde Beach, Los Jesuitas Beach and Calas de Rocamar (in Torre de la Horadada); and El Río Beach, Mil Palmeras Beach and Vistamar Beach (in Mil Palmeras). You can enjoy and buy horticultural quality products.
