It is a prosperous and modern municipality, relevant as a residential and industrial city and location of the University of Alicante. It is very well connected to the coast and is one of the accesses to the Mountain of Alicante. Its urban design is modern, with spacious and straight streets. Over the last fifty years it has developed as a residential city, with several urbanizations perfectly equipped with infrastructures. Its main economic activity is the industrial one with all kinds of companies hosted in the various polygons that exist in the town.
